Norway Map Quiz

Overview

This project helps Norwegian language learners to master the names of Norway’s eleven counties. Knowing these geographic terms is particularly useful for listening to Norwegian weather reports, which can otherwise be challenging for a learner who cannot differentiate place names from other types of vocabulary.

Design

The learner is presented with the quiz immediately, in case they already have some familiarity with Norway’s counties and are ready for some trial and error. A link to a study guide in the upper right hand corner is available for users who feel overwhelmed or who want to review before trying to identify counties. The learner can identify the counties in any order and appropriate labels appear for each county after correct identification.

Built in Articulate Storyline, this project uses variables and many button states (rather than layers) due to the complexity of information that must be represented.
